Connective tissue in the vaginal walls is an important factor in pelvic organ support. Symptoms of pelvic oor dysfunction mainly arise from laxity in the vagina or its supporting ligaments, due to increasing age and vaginal childbirth. Fotona‘s SMOOTH™ is a non-invasive non-ablative laser procedure for functional strengthening of connective tissue inside the vaginal wall, improving the pelvic oor support and diminishing symptoms of pelvic oor dysfunction.

Er:YAG And Nd:YAG Laser Combination

The Dynamis’ VSP (Variable Square Pulse) Er:YAG laser inherently ablates skin more precisely than other laser technologies. Er:YAG energy is highly absorbed in water — the main target chromophore for skin resurfacing — and can thus vaporize skin with micron–precision and very little thermal conduction. This keeps undesired effects such as hypopigmentation and persistent erythema, as well as recovery time, to a minimum. The VSP Er:YAG laser in Dynamis systems can be accurately tuned from varying “cold” and “hot” ablative to non–ablative thermal ratios. The Nd:YAG laser perfectly complements the Er:YAG laser’s ablative action with its ability to penetrate deeply into the skin to create thermal effects without damaging the skin surface. IntimaLase® is a patent-pending, innovative and unique non-invasive Er:YAG laser therapy. It is based on incisionless, non-ablative photothermal tightening of the vaginal canal. Preliminary clinical studies show that it is an efficient, easy-to-use, quick and safe procedure.

The indication for IntimaLase® is vaginal relaxation syndrome, which is the loss of the optimum structural form of the vagina. This process is generally associated with overstretching of the vaginal canal during childbirth as well as with natural aging.

The IntimaLase® treatment is based on laser-induced thermal effects in the vaginal tissue, stimulating collagen remodeling and the synthesis of new collagen fibers. IncontiLase® is an innovative and unique, patent-pending, non-invasive Er:YAG laser therapy for incontinence. It is based on non-ablative photothermal tension and shrinkage of the urethral and anterior bladder wall region. The indications for IncontiLase® therapy are mild and moderate stress and mixed urinary incontinence (SUI).
