Warts are small, rough, hard lumps that some people will get to experience at some point in their lives. They often show up on hands and feet, but they can appear anywhere on the body. Some warts appear alone, though they are far more likely to turn up in clusters, which makes them hard to ignore and uncomfortable to live with.
If you are tired of stubborn warts, skin tags, or other unwanted lesions, CryoPen offers a cooler approach. This advanced, non-invasive cryotherapy treatment uses nitrous oxide to directly target those pesky skin concerns, while leaving the surrounding skin untouched.
So how does CryoPen work, and why is it becoming the go-to choice for wart removal? Read below to learn more.

Why Do Warts Appear? Understanding the Cause
Common warts are caused by an infection with the human papilloma virus (HPV). They are not harmful, but they are contagious.
HPV spreads through close skin-to-skin contact, and it can also be passed on indirectly through contaminated objects like towels, razors, nail cutters, and even gym equipment. The risk of catching warts is higher when the skin is wet or damaged.
After infection, it can take weeks or even months before a wart shows up. This is the reason why it is often hard to tell where it came from.
What Is CryoPen Treatment?
Manufactured by H&O Equipments, CryoPen is a highly effective cryotherapy device that uses nitrous oxide to freeze and destroy benign skin lesions. Unlike traditional freezing methods, CryoPen delivers pinpoint accuracy, so only the targeted tissue is treated while the surrounding skin stays unaffected.

What to Expect from a CryoPen Session
Before the treatment, the area with skin concerns will be sanitized. The doctor will then hold the device vertically with the tip directed downward to directly target the lesion, freezing it within seconds.
A mild white frost will form evenly over the lesion. After the initial freeze, the tissue is allowed to thaw for about 30 seconds, followed by a second freeze.
After thawing, the tissue turns reddish and may look inflamed due to interstitial bleeding, which is normal. Over the next few days, the treated area will scab over and naturally fall off, revealing fresh, healthy skin underneath.
Warts typically disappear within 14 days of treatment, although aggressive plantar or mosaic warts may need a follow-up treatment. So, it’s recommended to always follow the instructions from the professionals.
